For what it's worth, I think it's smart you stuck with Game Chat. It's great for SEO. I did a Google of Phillies Game Chat, and this site ranked first. That's something you don't want to lose. (You are, however, second to The 700 Level of "phillies live game chat".)

Lineup:

Victorino
Werth
Utley
Howard
Burrell
Feliz
Coste
Bruntlett
Kendrick

If anyone can explain to me why Feliz is batting ahead of Coste, I'm all ears.

Chatter up is good to use in a graphic, I've decided.

I wonder if BL would be first in "Phillies live game chat," and all the other searches where Phillies.com doesn't apply, if typepad didn't change their format. It used to be like 500 posts per game with regularity.

CJ - because the catcher is always 8th - except when he's seventh because you have a gnome filling in at shortstop.

Dave X: It seems to have more to do with the fact that The 700 Level titles their posts "Live Game Chat." Post titles make a big difference in SEO.

So what does everyone think, will Rowand get cheered or booed?

I think Rowand will be cheered without a doubt.

Cheered, no doubt.

You can cheer that. UTS!!!

Chase = The Man.

Chase Utley is going to end up with more HRs this year than Ryan Howard. You watch.

first-pitch feliz comes through!

Extended sacrifice bunt futility.

why is it that Wheels always feels its necessary to tell us what certain people in the dugout are saying everytime a camera shows someone in the dugout? Does he have a hidden mic down there to spy on them! I mean its quite foolish sometimes and sometimes I think Wheels actually gets off on putting words in peoples' mouths. It seemed like Wheels might have shot a wad in his khaki's tonight when he saw Myers with his arm around Cholly.

Kyle "three pitch strikeout" Kendrick tonight. Also continuing his comebacker fielding trend.

THe Dude: Don't be jealous.

Bruntlett!! Great play. May not be saying that again for a while.

Beautiful DP.

This Giants' lineup is pathetic. They have two other players (Rowand and Molina) who would start for most other teams in the NL. That is it. Lewis might be a decent player but I still want to see what he does over the course of a year.

When Molina is your cleanup hitter, you have major problems.

Which only means that they will be All Star candidates by the end of this series.

Parker - Nah and it is not exactly like the Giants' have any threats off their bench. Worst group of pinch-hitters in the league. Although I did wish I would be able to go to the Lincecum-Hamels game on Sunday. That should be a hell of a game.

In fact I actually have seen Lincecum twice and I like his stuff better than Hamels actually. Amazing that a guy his size can generate the power he can.

Feliz can't get shown up by Aaron Rowand!

Looks like Feliz is fired up to play his old team.

MG: I like Lincecum's stuff as well. I like Hamels presence better though. I've said it before but, Hamels has something that extends beyond physical skills.

Some of the CBP lucky dirt.

Senor Out is on a mission tonight.

Ok, the Schmidt/Matthews hamming about wine is too much. Schmidt looks exactly like Chuck Norris.

Maybe Feliz did listen to Manuel..

Nice pitch to Molina there by Kendrick.

Of course it's Molina.

Big K there by Madson. Looking for a nice DP ball now...

Kendrick left in too long and Madsen can't seal the dam.

@Parker: Yup, Charlie needs to learn when to pull his starters. Also, why is Madson even in there now? Is Gordon unavailable?

Most nights, Kendrick is a six inning pitcher. Madsen looks more and more hittable every time he makes an appearance. This is the Giants, not the Detroit Tigers, come on.

i can't remember the last time madson actually looked good on the mound

For me, Madson's start against the ChiSox a few weeks back was the beginning of his long slow decline.

I like this matchup with Howard.

Welp...

I still think Madson is hurt. And so much for Howard breaking out of his slump. He has looked lost at the plate tonight.

nice play by flash there to save the run

ryan howard = adam dunn

Gameday has "injury delay." Who's injured?

trainer came to the mound after flash ran somebody down at third, but he stayed in. i think they were just trying to get him a minute to catch his breath

Thanks.

Anyone else think the Phils are trying to hard to hit big flies tonight?

i was thinking they'd bring in jenkins to face walker... maybe ph for coste and bring ruiz in to catch the rest of the game

Time to set up the "who pitches the tenth" pool. (Of course, Chollie's incomparable gut is telling nhim the Phils will win it in a walk off 9th.)

I'm guessing Condrey for the 10th.

Why waste Lidge - its not a save situation

That assumes, of course, the Giants don't get six or seven more singles here.

Burrell still in the game in the 9th.

i'm calling rudy

for the home team with a game tied in the ninth or later there no longer can be a save situation. So you put your best guy out there first and play for the win in the bottom of the inning. Then as the game goes on you work back or throw long relief in there if both sides keep putting up zeros. Past 11th or 12t, it all becomes a crap shoot anyway.

Would be a shame to let this one get away. On the other hand the Giants have got to be gritting their teeth also over all the hits and only 4 runs.

Thought Ryan was breaking out of it, but boy, he looked lost on that last K. Almost could see him going "Here we go again" with bad body language.

Nice comment from Schidt about the Manchine playing confidently and better in the field this year and hea was right. Pat will never be a gold glover to say the least, , butplaying less tentatively in LF and did a nice job tracking down that deep fly ball.

Schmidt also had kind words for Feliz and his whole attitude. I know he's much detested here but I'm really pulling for him to put it together.

Just checking in.

Ah, c'mon Dan; stop makin' sense. It's better to imagine that Chollie had nsome strange hunch that it'd be over in the bottom half.

Ain't Lidge great?

So step 1 worked. Now they just need to come through on step 2.

So Dan, by your theory, JC is next, right?

Tie game at home, you typically use your closer in the top of the 9th.

With Rowand up, who's their next best righthanded option?

Howard probably wasn't going to snap out of it today. Against lefties, Howard (780 OPS) is closer to Feliz (735 OPS vs LHP) than Wes Helms (831 OPS vs LHP).

On the other hand, his numbers versus righties are Bonds-like. Still, it would probably make sense, especially versus lefties, to move him down in the order. In the regular lineup, with Vic and Rollins, only Feliz and Ruiz are worse than Howard.

Guess I wouldn't have gone with Romero there... yikes.

they jinxed him with that scoreless innings nonsense

Ah crap.

The Phils pitching has sure helped the Giants hitters revert to career normns tonight.

Whaddya think? Any of these Phils wanna be a hero tonight?

There's no way we should win a game where we give up 16 hits, but I still have hope.

They oughta be able to beat this guy. He hasn't been the same since the Beach Boys broke up.

Chase, Chase, baby; Chase, Chase, baby...

The first four pitches Howard was thrown were balls, he managed to strike out on the 5th.

Pat Z BAt!!!!!

YES! YES! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a game, what a hit, what a disaster.

MANCHINE!!!!!!!!!

Can't believe what I'm hearing. PAT BURRELL MVP!!!!!!

They absolutely need to take a shot at extending this Manchine. Nice game, guys. Wow.

PAT THE FREAKIN' BAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MANCHINE NOT PROGRAMMED TO LOSE>>>!! STACK OVERFLOW>>>....

MVP!

That is crazy. Unfortunately its not nearly as dramatic when you're watching it on the gametracker.

Way to go Mr. Bat!

ESPN game cast just doesn't do that justice!

What are you waiting for? Give the Manster a three-year extension!

That was unbelievable. What a steal.

Wilson tried to walk him..Manchine would have none of that.

I cannot imagine that the Giants are gonna feel very optimistic after that. For so many reasons they should have won that game. But then again, they don't have an EFFIN MANCHINE, BABY!

{And they know they've gotta pitch to him 8 more times, at least, in the next couple days.}

I'm getting that feeling I had back in '93. These guys want to win. Did you see Utley after he got his single? He knew he did what he had to do.

Pat the Bat delivers yet again. This is at least the 3rd game of the year the Phils have stolen.

No surprise that Utley and Burrell won that game themselves in the 10th.

What a finish! What a way to steal the game!
Unreal. This is one of those where you wake up in a great mood the next day just from having watched this happen.

Great job, Pat, and nice job also acknowledging Chase getting on base to set the table. These guys have the look of a ball team.

this team will be frightening when howard finally figures it out

Awesome way to win it. Utley and Burrell are killing it. MVP's!

Yeah, I'm in a great mood now. Goodnight everyone, I have a half-marathon to run tomorrow morning. Go Phils!

They don't win this kinda game without the leadership of Aaron Rowand...

PAT FUCKING BURRELL!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE.

at least Aaron Rowand got to hit a homerun too...

great win

I'm in the city for the weekend and was able to attend last night's and tonight's game. Unbelievable. Two great games. I still don't believe Pat got it done. Chase went up there with one pitch and did his job as well.

Well managed game, I thought. Using Lidge in the ninth in a tie game at home to keep the home advantage. Lifting Kendrick in the seventh with two on when a double play was in order was questionable, but we know Kyle runs out of gas after six. BTW, Madson's soon to be demoted to mop-up duty. This is where Geoff Geary is missed: inherited runners.

I watched the game until the end of the 6th and went out. Followed the game via cell phone. Saw that they tied it up.

Next check... game over. Pat Burrell hit homer to win.

This so reminds of burrell in 2002. early in the season, he twice hit extra-inning walk off homers at the Vet. Once agaisnt Florida the second against Atlanta. I wasn't a season ticket holder then. But I happened to have been at both games. I swear the shot against Atlanta was an upperdeck shot at the Vet. (My memory could be wrong, but I remember looking for myself in the highlites of that game.) My buddy and I were in the shade all game. And it was cold. So we moved around to Left Field upper deck to get some warmth.

And bam... Burrell hits the game winner with Rollns on.

When I saw that Burrell hit the game winner tonight on my phone. It was like it was matter of fact. Re-Sign Burrell NOW.

Mike says: Re-Sign Burrell NOW. I'll go for that. Pat the Bat!!! Phils in Phirst Place!!!

One point:

- Howard really needs to shut his mouth arguing with the umps about balls and strikes. Not going to do him any good and it can only hurt him if he begins to acquire a reputation as a guy who mouths off to refs.
