The National League Championship Series shifts to Los Angeles tonight where the Phillies try to take a commanding 3-0 lead against the Dodgers. First pitch is 8:22 ET on Fox. Lineups have been posted: As he’s done throughout the season, manager Charlie Manuel gives the nod to glove man Pedro Feliz, who gets the start behind Moyer despite right-hander Hiroki Kuroda going for LA and Greg Dobbs swinging a hot bat. Carlos Ruiz, who’s heating up of late, does the catching. Shane Victorino stays in the No. 2 hole.

The star of tonites game will be Jamie Moyer with 6 2/3 innings and holding the dodgers to 2-3 runs.

GO PHILS !

Had better get some ribbies out of Feliz tonight, Gut.
Posted by: Unikruk | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 07:51 PM
hehehe... number 2 hole... hehehe...
Posted by: whiskey | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 07:51 PM
I've been waiting all season for Feliz to prove me wrong. Please, please, please let that be tonight!!!!
Posted by: CJ | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 07:55 PM
Phils go S-S-L-L-R-R-R-R with their 3rd highest OPS v. RHP on the bench (highest BA). Phils may need something big from 3-4-5 tonight unless Ruiz stays hot and Moyer finds some Myers in him.

God Bless America and God Bless the Phillies!
Posted by: JH2 | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 07:57 PM
Well I'm an LA MAN (49 yrs) who is born from Philly parents...I used to remember go back to Philly during the summers and loving it just so I could rub it in on all my cousins and uncles who used to squack about their teams...especially in the following years of 78 and 79 after my beloved Dodgers (fan 44 yrs) knocked them out of the playoffs after they talked sooooo much $#!t. Philly has does it 1 time..1 time only...man I used to feel sorry for the most losingest team in sports history but not anymore especially since the fans are not real sports fans...they show no sportsmanship...always talking tooo much $#!t... Go Dodgers
Posted by: K T | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 07:59 PM
Well, you can't say Cholly's not a creature of habit. The lefties are back to back and the black hole has been reinstated. Have to hope Moyer's at the top of his game.
Posted by: clout | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:00 PM
Are you implying, KT, that Dodger fans are "real sports fans"?
Posted by: Unikruk | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:01 PM
still never understand the fans who come on other blogs to talk '$#!t'. I love LA fans claiming that we aren't real fans. I'm not even gonna bother going into it. Too much of a waste of time to begin to explain the reasons.
Posted by: Matt B. | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:02 PM
K T: Actually it was 77 and 78, not 79. But since you're a Dodger fan, we understand your shortcomings.
P.S. How about '83? Nice year, no?
Posted by: clout | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:02 PM
With Kuroda going 9-10 this year, up against the seasoned vet Jamie Moyer, I'm really confident the Phils will come out hard and fast. Two more to go baby then it's on to the show!
Posted by: David Hinkle | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:03 PM
K t. I grew up with a grandfather who was a diehard ny fan. The dodgers broke his heart leaving Brooklyn. He never forgave them and hell why should I ? East coast baby. Where the real teams are.
Posted by: rex | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:06 PM
Yes, KT, I guess we're not the real sports fans. I mean, real sports fans come to their team's games in the 3rd and leave by the 7th, right? Go Phils!
Posted by: SteveO | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:07 PM
let's not even give the LA troll the dignity of any response ... even with the MLB season pass, I've hardly seen Kuroda pitch ... for those of you who have seen him, how do you think Choly's lineup matches up? i have to admit, would like to see dobbs in the lineup tonight
Posted by: BobWalk | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:08 PM
Clout, If you paid attention to the Blog...I said I visited in the summers...what did you do in the fall of 76...oh yea...nothing...your team made the playoffs 77 & 78
Posted by: K T | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:08 PM
"Welcome to Mannywood!"
Go to hell, Zelasko.
(OK, that's a little harsh. But seriously why don't Rupert Murdoch and Manny just get a room already.)
Posted by: Steve Jeltz | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:09 PM
Why is a team down 0-2 getting more coverage than the team up 2-0? I know we are living in the Manny, Papi and Red Sox world but can we atleast have some parity in the coverage?
Posted by: Matt B. | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:11 PM
can i get TBS back? I liked there coverage a lot better.
Posted by: Matt B. | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:12 PM
I am so sick of this coverage. It's all about the Dodgers. Hello? They're losing 2-0, maybe because the team they're playing is, uhmmm..., better than them?
Kevin Kennedy: "The Dodgers are a great ballclub" - are you kidding me? Great?
Posted by: Steveo | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:12 PM
I could give a crap about the Fox announcers, but they are wearing the Dodger love on their sleeve
Posted by: GoPhilsGo | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:13 PM
KT- Unlike your Doyers, the Phils made the playoffs in 76. Care to throw out any other baseless trash-talk?
Posted by: Jim | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:13 PM
ill take being the underdog and team with no chance of winning...it suits us much better than being favorites.
Posted by: Matt B. | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:13 PM
I say let's win this one to stick it to Kevin Kennedy. And if I have to hear McCarver say that Madson has the best changeup on the phillies one more time...
Posted by: lekh tizdayen | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:14 PM
Unikruk...If you describe a real sports fan as someone who is over-zealous, talks $#!t about opposing teams players and fans and shows no true sportsmanship...then sorry I'm not a true sports fan...I've seen just 1 philly blogger come on our site and show sportsmanship...talking only about the game...the good the bad etc.
Posted by: K T | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:14 PM
The Dodgers wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for Manny (well, I do have to give Joe some credit)
Posted by: GoPhilsGo | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:15 PM
K T: what did you come on here and do? the exact same thing you describe as not being a true sports fan.
Posted by: Matt B. | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:15 PM
Matt B....Touche !
Posted by: GoPhilsGo | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:17 PM
Dear FOX,
F you.
Love,
Phillies Fans
The Dodger bias is getting just a tad heavy here.
Posted by: The Other Kevin | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:17 PM
lets go phillies!
Posted by: redbeard | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:17 PM
Phillies fans: 1 dodgers fans: 0..the first of many philly victories tonight.
Posted by: Matt B. | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:18 PM
is the broadcast "skipping" for anyone else?
Posted by: lekh tizdayen | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:18 PM
The coverage continues to disgust me...but there is nothing we can do about it. However, I'll take the 2-0 lead over having my team get the more favorable coverage.
Posted by: CRD | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:18 PM
How hilarious? KT comes to the preeminent Phils blog, writes a personal history with a caveat that his relations never relinquished talking up Philly sports. Then bashes Philly phaithful for not being real fans. The statement that most resolves the paradox is,
-KT has previously done too much Cali blow to think logically.
-KT is a fifty-plus year old man, drinking alone.
-KT, making the mistaken reversal, claims that because we do not hurl obscene abuse on this blog, we are not real fans.
-KT is actually a Mets fan.
Posted by: PhillyBlunt | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:19 PM
Tim and Joe wonder how the Phils are up 2-0 because 2 players aren't hitting. Answer? Because there are 7 other guys in the lineup who are. Imagine that.
Posted by: GoPhilsGo | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:19 PM
McCarver...He's the biggest Homer of all time...I mute the TV and listen to the man with the golden voice Vin Scully...the best announcer in all of baseball and yes we also stole him from the east coast 50 years ago...The home of the "best sports teams"...everyone who comes here realizes this is the place to be
Posted by: K T | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:19 PM
Let's go Phils! My suggestion would be to watch this on mute - Joe Buck is laying on the Dodger-love and Phillies-diss very heavily already ...
Posted by: BobWalk | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:20 PM
GoPhilsGo: that analysis would require the broadcasters to look at the actual tapes of the game and not just think that since Manny is a Dodger that they should be winning.
Posted by: Matt B. | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:21 PM
KT, I live in LA, also. Judging by what you just said, I'm selecting the following from Philly Blunt.
-KT is actually a Mets fan.
Posted by: GoPhilsGo | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:21 PM
McCarver: " If you told Phillies fans Rollins and Howard would go 1 for 7 in the first two games and be up 2 games, they wouldn've believed it."
HA!
Posted by: Replacement Player | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:22 PM
nice, always sunny intro
Posted by: redbeard | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:22 PM
Manny could take a poop on home plate and Joe Buck would call him a "charming little scamp."
Posted by: Steve Jeltz | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:22 PM
Looks like there's about 65% capacity to start the game.
Posted by: jhart | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:22 PM
KT: just like your football team?
Posted by: Matt B. | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:22 PM
Matt B..you are totally right I'm being a Troll...I tried being the nice guy for so long...but we get so many trolls on our live blog...I've got feed up w/ it...i'm sorry I apologize

what was the address to your live blog, K T?
Posted by: redbeard | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:23 PM
KT can't be a Mets fan, he gave up already...
Posted by: CRD | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:24 PM
Has anyone written to Fox regarding this horrible coverage?
Posted by: GoPhilsGo | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:24 PM
No team is currently in better shape than the Phillies - the Red Sox, Rays, and Dodgers all wish they were up 2-0 heading in to game 3. Let's keep iot up, boys!
Has anyone checked to see is Coste is even on the playoff roster?
Posted by: Verdeforce | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:24 PM
"They'll be packed in here by the end of the night."- Joe Buck

Posted by: RSB | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:25 PM
Another weak out by Rollins.
Posted by: Matt | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:25 PM
Please, let's make it a little easier on Kuroda.
Posted by: RSB | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:26 PM
if you told me mccarver wasnt a dodger fan id call you a liar
Posted by: redbeard | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:26 PM
Why are they booing Chase?
Posted by: Verdeforce | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:26 PM
I am not a big fan of our matchup with Kuroda. We need the 3-4-5 guys to come get some big hits to get the win.
Posted by: Matt B. | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:26 PM
Every time the camera focuses on Vic, he is digging his nose.
Posted by: Cory | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:26 PM
How about those "real sports fans?" Can't even have everyone in their seats in the first NLCS game there in 20 years.
Posted by: SteveO | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:26 PM
What a rabid crowd... Did they secretly move the game to Miami?
Posted by: The Other Kevin | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:27 PM
it seems like buck and mccarver liked that he threw at chases head
Posted by: redbeard | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:27 PM
way to work that walk chase

I don't think Chase is in the condition to be running right now.
Posted by: Steve Jeltz | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:31 PM
Dumb move, but he looked safe.
Posted by: Verdeforce | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:31 PM
redbeard: WHY would McCarver be a Dodger fan?
Posted by: RSB | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:32 PM
Man...we are not getting the calls this postseason.
Posted by: lekh tizdayen | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:32 PM

Posted by: Matt | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:32 PM
Great play, except for the one little detail that he was safe.

Did Utley get a really bad jump? Cause it seemed he should of been at the bag sooner? also he seemed to slide way early and lose a bunch of speed?
Posted by: johnnysanz3 | Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 08:32 PM
i'm sure buck and mccarver will say it is too close to call on the play at 2nd
