One last post before we get this party started. The Phils acquired
28-year-old Gustavo Chacin, who had some pretty decent seasons with the
Blue Jays before blowing out his shoulder. The Venezuelan southpaw spent spring training with the Washington Nationals and was released
March 31. In four seasons with Toronto between 2004-07, he went 25-15 with
a 4.18 ERA, finishing fifth in Rookie of the Year balloting in 2005. He spent all of last season rehabbing in the Jays' farm system and it did not go well.
Chacin was signed to a minor league deal and the Phils will see if he has anything left. Next up: The 2009 season begins.

As always, have to try to imagine what Harry K. would do if he makes the team and has some success....

"On a funny note I just got back from Houston and the only sports memoribilla store I went to prominantly featured a Michael Bourne shirt in the window. I almost bought one."
By store, do you just mean street corner and by "in the window" do you mean, Ed Wade passionately selling them?

Good pick up by the Phils. Well worth a shot. He's only 28! Gustavo had some game before he got hurt!
